Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc. in Peoria Heights, IL, is seeking an experienced civil engineer to oversee IDOT and municipal projects across Central Illinois. You will manage roadway, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects with a focus on quality and timely delivery.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Construction Engineering and 10+ years of IDOT or municipal project experience, with travel across the service area. PE license is preferred; compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 per year.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil/Construction Engineering from an accredited program.
• 10+ years’ experience in IDOT construction or municipal work.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and testing, as needed.
• Recommend alterations to development and design to improve the quality of projects.
• Mentor staff assigned to you on project skills and job expectations.
• Prepare project scope, fees and Work Order documents to IDOT.
• Manage multiple small and large projects successfully.
• Monitor progress schedule and shop drawings.
• Provide general civil engineering and municipal client service.
