Job summary

Kleinschmidt Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. You will develop designs and provide construction support for dam removals, embankment repairs, fish passage facilities, and stream restorations.

The role supports renewable energy projects across multiple U.S. offices, with a hybrid work plan (2–3 days in the office). A PE license and extensive civil engineering experience are preferred. Travel and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Development and technical review of construction drawings, notes, typical details, specifications, material schedules, and quantity takeoffs.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including alignments, profiles, corridors, grading design, earthwork modeling, and basemaps from public datasets.
• Prior experience with civil site development for roadways and drainage, land development, dam decommissioning/removal, stream restoration, and/or fish passage engineering.
• Experience serving as a task lead or project engineer coordinating design development, technical quality, and delivery of engineering projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, mentor junior staff, perform technical quality reviews, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Professional Engineer (PE)

Responsibilities

• Lead concept to issued-for-bid construction drawings and designs.
• Collaborate with scientists, data analysts, engineers, and licensing experts on renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate design development, technical quality reviews, and project delivery.
• Mentor staff and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare specifications, reports, and presentation materials for clients and stakeholders.
