Job summary

The State of New Hampshire's Division of Transportation seeks a Civil Engineer V in Concord to lead major highway project design. A PE license and extensive civil engineering experience are required.

You will supervise project staff, guide complex designs, and ensure compliance with state and federal standards while contributing to feasibility and cost estimates. A strong total compensation package is offered.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in civil engineering or Bachelor’s in civil engineering with an MBA.
• Experience: 1 year post-PE licensure; 3 years post-PE licensure; 5 years post-PE licensure.
• Education: PE licensure and related qualifications as stated.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and reviews activities for multiple complex transportation projects to meet policies.
• Directs design staff and provides guidance on complex design issues to team members.
• Advises and supervises bureau personnel and/or consultants to maintain productivity and standards.
• Monitors design progress and prioritizes engineering work to meet schedules.
• Develops effective work methods and engineering standards to improve solutions.
• Develops engineering documents and reviews estimates for highway contracts.
• Supervises staff performance evaluations, hiring decisions and training needs.
• Establishes and maintains cooperation among subordinates to foster professionalism.
