Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design projects in the New England region, based in Boston, MA or nearby offices. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality transportation solutions.

The role requires a PE license, 7 years of experience, and willingness to travel domestically, with opportunities to work across multiple offices including MA, CT, and NH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Coordinate technical advancement of highway design projects and deliverables.
• Oversee day-to-day transportation planning and design projects with milestones and quality checks.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance for growth.
• Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specs, and estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Leaders and Managers on complex projects for clients.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local regs; sign & seal as needed.
• Perform site reviews and update design requirements for locations.
• Support proposals by contributing to client RFP responses and standards compliance.
