Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Highway Engineer to lead highway initiatives in Keene, NH. You will mentor staff, drive design quality, and deliver practical transportation solutions across projects while supporting flexible work arrangements.

With 10+ years in highway engineering and a PE license, you will guide junior engineers, collaborate across departments, and engage clients and agencies, ensuring safety, resilience, and efficiency in transportation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience; roadway or hydraulic design experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• NHDOT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex highway designs, reports, and specifications (roadway modeling, roundabouts, signal design).
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects.
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints.
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support.
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies.
