Job summary

Monte Vista Consulting, Ltd. based in Reno, Nevada, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design and plan production, mentoring junior staff and expanding project management responsibilities over time.

The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, a solid understanding of civil site design, and experience across residential, commercial, industrial, and subdivision land development. Partial remote work may be considered.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Mentorship of junior staff is expected.
• Ability to interpret architectural concept plans for civil design.
• Experience with residential, commercial, industrial and subdivision land development projects.
• Prior exposure to project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage site improvement plans including grading, utility, and drainage design across a range of projects.
• Translate architectural concept plans into civil engineering design deliverables.
• Coordinate design work with survey data, geotechnical reports, and applicable jurisdictional requirements.
• Provide technical mentorship and review for junior engineering and design staff.
• Support quality control review of plan sets prior to agency submittal.
• Participate in client and agency coordination.
