Job summary

Burns & McDonnell Hawaii is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design for aviation and federal projects, including airfields, infrastructure, and facility developments for commercial aviation, federal government, military, and industrial clients.

The role requires broad civil design expertise, including master planning, site layout, pavement design, utilities, drainage, and stormwater management, with project tasks spanning drawings, specs, and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree from ABET-accredited program with 7 years civil eng experience.
• FE exam or PE license preferred; EPC project experience is a plus.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience with civil design software and 3D modeling tools required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design on airfield, infrastructure, and facility projects for aviation and federal clients.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for civil engineering portions of projects.
• Site master planning, grading, earthwork calculations and pavement design.
• Utility routing, profiles, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Stormwater management design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
• Assist permitting, field inspections, and construction administration.
• Assist in budgets, cost estimates, and business development duties as needed.
• Provide leadership to junior staff and coordinate with internal/external teams.

Master's degree in Civil Engineering

Professional Engineering license (preferred)
