Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support project teams in creating designs for power, process, healthcare, and other facilities. You will assist from concept through design, adapt plans to budget and client needs, and participate in fieldwork and data collection with senior engineers.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail and use of CAD/BIM tools, with a pathway to EIT and growth within a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Internship/related consulting experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative environment.
• Familiarity with civil engineering design concepts and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in civil design from conceptual to design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities.
• Assist in designing civil components per project needs.
• Apply civil engineering practices per codes and procedures.
• Assist in field inspections and data collection.
• Support client presentations and contract administration.
