Job summary

Burns & McDonnell Hawaii is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design for airfield, infrastructure, and facility projects across aviation and federal sectors. The role involves master planning, site layout, utilities, drainage, and stormwater management, with responsibility for detailed drawings, specifications, and coordination with permitting and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 7 years of civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 7 years civil engineering experience.
• Master Degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years civil engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for civil engineering portions of projects.
• Site master planning including geometry, facility layout and access.
• Site development including grading and earthwork calculations.
• Site geometry and pavement design for airfield and site.
• Utility system design and coordination with other disciplines.
• Stormwater management design including hydrology and hydraulics.
• Assist permitting agencies and participate in field inspections.
• Assist in project budgets and cost estimates.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to staff.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines.
