Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in the US-CA region. You will lead electrical design from concept to design completion for a variety of projects including airports, government, and military facilities.

You will apply ANSI/IEEE standards, review CAD/BIM outputs, and perform field inspections while collaborating with project teams to meet budget and client needs. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
PE license strongly preferred; DoD/DoE experience is a plus.
Experience with CAD/BIM standards and electrical design standards (ANSI/IEEE) is required.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design for projects from concept through design completion.
Review production drawings for airports, commercial, government and military facilities.
Design single-line and riser diagrams and low to medium-voltage systems.
Apply electrical engineering principles and standards to solve complex design problems.
Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
Coordinate with project managers and prepare client presentations.
