Job summary

Bohler in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design, grading, utilities, stormwater, and permitting. You will serve as a technical resource, ensuring design quality, constructability, and compliance on high-profile projects across Raleigh.

You will collaborate with engineers and project leaders, own design challenges from concept through construction, and mentor junior staff while advancing your own technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of land development design and permitting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
