Job summary

Bohler’s Nashville, TN office is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design initiatives and manage complex grading, drainage, and utility projects in the Nashville area.

You will collaborate with seasoned engineers, refine technical approaches, and support projects from concept through construction while upholding design quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail‑oriented approach with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
