Job summary

Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is actively hiring a Civil Construction Inspector to perform detailed inspections on roadway and transit projects and document construction while adhering to safety practices, client goals, and strong relationships.

The role requires 5+ years of inspection experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to read complex plans. Competitive compensation and extensive benefits are offered in California.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction inspection of major public works projects.
• ICC Certificate of Reinforced Concrete or Masonry, ACI Registered Construction Inspector License, or deputy inspection license.
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30‑Hour.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each stage of construction to completion.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and codes to verify work meets regulations.
• Monitor construction sites for safety violations.
• Prepare Non‑Conformance Reports when work does not meet standards.
• Maintain daily logs and reports with photographs.
• Review interim progress reports for contractor payments.
• Prepare reports on labor, materials, and equipment on site.
• Determine conformity of construction with plans and specs.
• Conduct quality surveillance of specific activities as needed.
• Coordinate inspection survey reports, cost estimates, and maintenance records.
