Job summary

Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is hiring an Inspector to perform field inspection work on a transit capital program in the Seattle area. You will verify compliance with contract documents, witness testing, and document quantities for payment while supporting project engineers.

Responsibilities include daily reports, field coordination with the contractor, and ensuring safety and standards adherence on rail and bus construction sites. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or related technical field; equivalent considered.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• About 5+ years of construction inspection experience on transit/rail/highway projects.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.
• Experience on or adjacent to active transit operations and rail right-of-way preferred.
• Knowledge of WSDOT, APWA specs and Sound Transit design criteria preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Observe contractor operations and ensure safety for all workers and the public.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
• Perform daily field inspections to verify plans, specs, and submittals.
• Prepare daily Inspector Reports with weather, manpower, equipment, and work activities.
• Witness field sampling/testing and verify materials match submittals.
• Document field quantities for payment and maintain records.
• Record as-built conditions and update project drawings.
• Identify non-conforming work and track resolutions.
• Flag potential RFIs or contract changes and escalate with support documents.
• Coordinate with contractor staff to align activities and sequencing.
• Ensure compliance with rail right-of-way protections and track procedures.
