Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks a Construction Inspector to support LAWA’s civil construction inspection within the QA&C Division. The role focuses on major infrastructure inspection, reporting, and safety compliance across multiple LAWA projects.

Candidates should have extensive Caltrans/LA standards experience, public works field inspection know‑how, and the ability to work both independently and within a large team.

Qualifications

• Requires extensive inspection experience on Caltrans bridge, roadway, and structure projects or equivalent supervisory roles.
• Public works inspection experience with heavy civil/roadway focus; superintendent background acceptable.
• Proven ability to review plans, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major reinforced concrete structures, pile foundations, roadways, and bridges across jurisdictions.
• Inspect sanitary sewer and storm drain installations per City/County LA standards.
• Inspect street lighting and traffic signal systems per City Bureau standards.
• Enforce Caltrans/LAWA safety and traffic control requirements.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports identifying issues and safety concerns.
• Assist in reviewing contractor payment requests based on completed work.
• Collaborate with a large team of inspectors.
