Job summary

Nash County, NC is seeking an Enforcement Agent within the Child Support Unit to perform investigative work and enforce court orders in IV-D cases.

The role focuses on locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity and support orders, and applying enforcement tools such as income withholding, contempt actions, and license suspensions, with coordination through the ACTS system and the Clerk of Court.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and 3 years experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work.
• Or an associate degree in related field with 2 years of experience.
• Or a four-year degree with 6 months experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary or legal work.
• Current Child Support experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor delinquent cases and enforce court orders.
• Prepare, review and file legal documents with Clerk of Court.
• Negotiate repayment and enforcement actions with non-custodial parents.
• Update ACTS with case information and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Provide court testimony and participate in hearings as required.
• Coordinate with employers, banks and government agencies as needed.
