Job summary

Johnston County is seeking a Child Support Establishment Agent to initiate and enforce child support orders within the IV-D program. You will establish paternity, prepare cases for court, and work with attorneys to enforce and modify orders, while assisting clients and agencies as needed.

This role requires strong investigative skills, data analysis, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech, with a focus on producing accurate case records and maintaining professional

Qualifications

• Initiation, organization and enforcement of child support orders in the IV-D program.
• Establishment of paternity and new support orders.
• In-depth investigation and preparation of cases for court; enforcement and modification of orders; presenting cases in court with attorney.
• Responds to information requests from clients, agencies, employers and attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement Program and legal proceedings.
• Investigative procedures used in the program.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, absent parents, other agencies and law enforcement.
