Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer, Advanced Thermal Applications to provide expert CFD and non-CFD analyses for heat rejection equipment.

The role focuses on external flow, site layouts, and interactions between units to support customer questions and product guidance. The candidate will develop and maintain CFD modeling standards, document results, and interact with customers to ensure proper interpretation of analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• 8+ years of experience in HVAC with 5+ years performing complex CFD analyses.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound engineering judgment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex results.

Responsibilities

• Perform CFD analyses to support customer heat rejection site evaluations.
• Define scope, assumptions, boundary conditions, and success criteria.
• Evaluate airflow distribution, unit interactions, and effects of layout and wind.
