Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer, Advanced Thermal Modeling to develop and scale thermal modeling across BAC’s cooling technologies.

You will translate thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer into reusable models and tools, and validate them with experimental data to support design and certification efforts. The role emphasizes leadership in model development, lab/field testing, and cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and performance improvements in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Systems, or related field.
• ~10+ years of relevant, progressively complex experience in thermal modeling and simulation.
• Experience developing and deploying thermal models, simulation tools, and/or engineering software.
• Experience with experimental validation (lab or field testing).

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale thermal modeling frameworks spanning unit-level physics and system-level performance.
• Translate thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer knowledge into reusable models and tools.
• Validate models against experimental data and certification requirements.
• Lead lab and field testing to refine models and support design decisions.
• Develop scalable simulation tools and workflows to increase throughput and consistency.
