Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, part of the CRH family, is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to oversee the cement manufacturing process from raw materials through finish milling. The role focuses on improving fuel and electrical efficiency, optimizing production rates, and ensuring peak equipment performance.

You will contribute by training operators, collaborating with shift teams, and applying pyro-processing expertise to drive continuous improvement and cost-effective results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field.
• 6 years of related experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Analyze the cement production process from raw materials to finish milling and implement changes for fuel and electrical efficiency and production rate.
• Demonstrate pyro-processing expertise in regular responsibilities.
• Train control room operators on proper use of plant equipment.
• Work with shift process teams to ensure peak efficiency of mills and pyro lines.
• Program plant control systems and provide maintenance, documentation, and improvements for process systems.
• Perform performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
• Maintain equipment performance records and wear part life history.
• Provide technical support to maximize production of quality cement efficiently.
• Optimize process areas via testing, data gathering, sampling, and in-house expertise for continual improvement.
• Handle additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
