Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to oversee the entire cement manufacturing process. You will analyze operations from raw materials through finish milling and implement changes to boost fuel and electrical efficiency and production rate.

Responsibilities include safety, mentoring operators, optimizing pyro lines, PLC programming, data analysis, and continual process improvements to maximize production and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role.
• Read, write and understand warning labels and safety instructions.
• Proficient in English (written, verbal and listening).
• Ability to make decisions with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with pyro-processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer and related principles.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Analyze cement production process and implement changes for optimal fuel, electrical efficiency and production rate.
• Demonstrate pyro-processing expertise in regular duties.
• Participate in training of control room operators on plant equipment.
• Collaborate with shift teams to maintain peak mill and pyro line efficiency.
• Program plant PLCs; maintain documentation and improve process systems.
• Conduct performance tests and keep equipment performance records.
• Provide technical support to maximize plant production cost-effectively.
• Test, collect data, sample, and apply in-house expertise for continuous improvements.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
