Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a candidate to inspect and monitor construction activities at the project site(s). The Inspector must perform complex inspections in at least two categories (Roadway, Bridges, Drainage, Erosion & Control, or Maintenance & Traffic) and work under limited supervision as assigned.

On-site work at various project locations is required. This role offers real-world impact on project success, opportunities to learn, and travel up to 40%.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET as required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to verify materials and processes meet plans, specs, and provisions.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections and understand construction design.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
