Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior CEI Inspector to lead advanced construction engineering inspections for transportation projects in the Cartersville, GA area.

The role includes supervising inspectors, overseeing contract administration, and supporting project documentation and engineering duties as needed. Qualifications include 4+ years in transportation inspection, lead-inspector experience, and relevant GDOT certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with four years of progressive transportation technician experience with a State Highway Agency or consultant; or
• Non-engineering/construction management degree with four years of progressive transportation technician experience; or
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
• Experience inspecting roadway and bridge construction projects
• Experience serving as a lead inspector and coordinating inspection personnel
• Certification tests: GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification, and GS World… (GSWCC) Level 1a (Erosion Control)
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, specs, and inspection procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and office equipment
• Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in GA

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced-level inspection work on roadway and bridge construction projects.
• Conduct materials sampling, inspection, and testing to verify requirements.
• Lead project inspections and supervise lower-level inspectors.
• Monitor workmanship and materials for compliance with plans and contract requirements.
• Exercise independent judgment in evaluating construction activities and field issues.
• Perform contract administration duties including field measurements and documentation.
• Participate in meetings and reviews related to project administration and coordination.
• Assist with project engineering duties on transportation projects as assigned.
• Assist with administration and management of locally administered projects.
• Attend meetings associated with project administration and coordination.
• Ensure LAP (Local Assistance Program) requirements and procedures are met.
• Support closeout activities and verification of documentation.
• Review and verify invoiced work for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor project funding and allocation of funds across phases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
