Job summary

Oak View Group, Caney Pines Convention Center, seeks a Senior Catering Manager to oversee catering, concession, and banquet operations. You will lead a large team, mentor staff, and ensure outstanding client service across events, including menu planning and execution.

The role requires evenings/weekends availability, strong leadership, and proficiency with POS and scheduling systems. A four‑year degree and extensive catering experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four‑year college/university.
• 4-6+ years of related catering experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to manage, coach, and development large catering teams.
• Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification.
• Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning.
• Basic computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Schedule+.
• Working knowledge of POS and timekeeping systems.
• Cash handling abilities; basic math skills, including significant number manipulation.
• Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee catering and concession operations to ensure quality and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all alcohol service policies during events.
• Mentor hourly staff and manage performance.
• Coordinate with culinary and events teams for smooth service.
• Troubleshoot POS hardware/software issues during events.
• Assist in opening/closing vaults and balancing cash.
• Create event staff schedules and verify hours worked.
• Document employee performance and attendance issues per policy.
• Manage events from setup to teardown with guests and staff.
