Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. in Johnston, IA is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead strategy and execution across multiple categories, driving best cost and value for projects.

You will build teams of SMEs and partner with stakeholders to deliver savings and efficiency. This role emphasizes contracting, supplier management, and process improvements, with a focus on risk management, KPI development, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of procurement, contract management, project management or related experience.
• Expertise in procurement, estimating, business, and leadership.
• Demonstrated experience developing procurement category strategies.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts with vendors.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience creating project management plans that specify charter, scope, cost estimates, schedule, milestones and target dates, and risk management plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, driven to succeed, strong critical thinker, and able to think and communicate in terms of process flow

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategy to achieve financial value-add and improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Assess work streams and activities for consolidation opportunities; assess processes for best practices.
• Closely monitor global supply market for pricing, trends, supplier capacity.
• Aggressively pursue Category Management strategy to establish Rosendin as a market leader.
• Develop and implement metrics to monitor KPIs and gaps; assess strategic landscape.
• Proactively challenge procurement, estimating, and cost-tracking practices.
• Develop innovative solutions to resolve complex issues and manage change.
• Build wide networks inside and outside the organization.
• Ensure category strategies evolve with market conditions.
• Negotiate Master Agreements with key suppliers.
• Understand strategic landscape and its impact on projects.
• Perform cost analysis and benchmark suppliers/commodities.
• Maintain safety and compliant work environment as per safety protocols.
• Support other responsibilities as assigned
