Job summary

Acosta in Grand Rapids is seeking a Category Analyst/Manager to support the sales team by analyzing multi-source data, evaluating item performance, and planning assortments. The role emphasizes partnership with clients, clear communication, and storytelling to drive action.

This hybrid position requires three days in the office per week. You will work with POS data, Circana/IRI, and syndicated sources to develop category insights and presentations that address business issues.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Windows applications including Excel, PowerPoint, VB, and macros.
• Experience with syndicated data and space management tools.
• Clear and concise communication of relevant information.
• Ability to identify data and diagnose solutions using CPG math concepts.
• Independent data mining and analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical insights and recommendations for category management using POS and syndicated data.
• Use Circana (IRI)/NielsenIQ data and reporting tools for analyses.
• Develop category presentations addressing business issues with syndicated data.
• Collaborate with CPG Category Management and Space Technology teams to ensure quality results.
• Stay informed on client KPIs, strategies, and timelines.
• Leverage client relationships to understand deliverables and project timelines.
• Category Analyst/Manager Certification is a plus.
