Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Senior Claims Resolution Specialist to lead investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner’s casualty claims. You will assess coverage, liability, and damages, guiding settlements while coordinating with counsel and SIU.

The role offers remote or hybrid arrangements with elevated responsibility, mentorship, and opportunities to influence outcomes across severe claims. Prior licensing and 7+ years in related claims are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have expert knowledge of coverage, liability, and complex claims handling procedures.
• Must handle claims at the highest technical and complexity level.
• Must be knowledgeable of state and federal laws in the adjuster’s jurisdiction.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 7 years of directly related experience.
• Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner’s casualty claims.
• Assess coverage, liability, and damages; recommend settlement strategies and escalate for authority review.
• Identify potential suspicious claims and refer to SIU and pursue third-party subrogation opportunities.
• Collaborate with trial counsel; attend mediations, arbitrations, trials, hearings, and conferences.
• Prepare detailed litigation and trial reports for local management and Home Office.
• Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, attorneys, and claimants to gather information and provide guidance.
• Respond to written and telephone inquiries including status reports.
• Maintain accurate reserves; recommend increases on cases exceeding authority.
• Safeguard financial and confidential information across all claim files.
• Oversee billing of outside and in-house counsel for cost efficiency.
• May mentor teammates or represent the company with regulatory agencies; participate in special projects.
