Job summary

Deep Roots Charter School seeks a Lead Case Manager to oversee case management, IEP processes, and data systems for students needing specialized services. You will ensure timely evaluations, high-quality documentation, and effective scheduling across teams.

You will collaborate with school psychologists, CM staff, and families to support compliant, individualized education plans while leading onboarding and professional development for new team members.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of special education law, IEP process, and compliance documentation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead peers, manage timelines, and support a culture of excellence.
• Experience as a case manager with a demonstrated record of effective IEP development and execution.
• Alignment with Deep Roots' mission, values, and commitment to anti-racist and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update a master tracker of all case manager caseloads and ensure balanced distribution by service minutes.
• Map out annual IEP initial evaluation and re-evaluation meetings for visibility within the Special Education Suite.
• Support case management scheduling, including intervention planning and reallocation as needed.
• Write PTE and PTRE documents, review IEP drafts, and provide feedback within deadlines.
• Attend IEP meetings and provide structured feedback on facilitation; collaborate with related providers.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of services for students in alternative placements.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree or advanced coursework in special education or educational leadership
