Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking a PRN Cook to join our culinary team in Indiana. The Cook will follow recipes, prepare nutritious meals for residents, and supervise kitchen tasks including tray assembly and storage, while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to state and federal regulations, and a commitment to high-quality resident meals in a compassionate senior-care setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Preferred sanitation/safe food handling certification, may be earned after joining ASC.
• Preferred prior institutional/healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks/assembles meals in appropriate quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food prep, tray assembly, and storage.
• Maintains a clean, compliant work area during service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food in accordance with procedures and regulations.
