Job summary

American Senior Communities in Indiana is seeking a Cook to join the Heritage House culinary team. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals, following recipes and ensuring safety and sanitation standards for residents.

You will lead kitchen activities, assemble trays, and maintain cleanliness while adhering to regulatory requirements. Prior healthcare food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years related experience.
• Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification preferred.
• Prior institutional/healthcare service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks meals in quantities needed and keeps them palatable and attractive.
• Leads kitchen staff with preparation, tray assembly, cleaning and storage.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service.
• Handles, stores and disposes of food per procedures and state/federal rules.
