Job summary

American Senior Communities is hiring a full-time Cook for the day shift to join our culinary team. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents, following menus and safety standards, and supervise kitchen tasks as needed.

The role emphasizes sanitation, teamwork, and delivering high-quality meals in a care-focused environment within Indiana. Prior healthcare food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related food service experience.
• Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification preferred.
• Healthcare or institutional kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepare meals matching menus and resident nutrition needs.
• Cook nutritious, palatable meals in required quantities.
• Lead kitchen staff with food prep, tray assembly, and storage.
• Maintain a clean food service work area during operations.
• Handle, store, and dispose of food according to procedures and regs.
