Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team in Indiana. Part-time hours available with responsibilities to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents, while upholding sanitation and safety standards.

The role includes following menus, leading kitchen tasks, and maintaining clean, compliant work areas. Preferred candidates have sanitation certification and experience in institutional or healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience or training.
• Preferred: Certification in Sanitation/Safe Food Handling where required by state/federal agencies.
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food per menus that meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks meals in quantities needed that are palatable and nutritious.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service.
• Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.
