Job summary

Consertus seeks an experienced Project Cost Controller for a role in the western suburbs of Chicago. You will manage cost control activities on capital construction projects, consolidating data from multiple sources to establish, maintain, and analyze costs and forecasts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 5–10 years in project controls, and strong Excel skills. Hybrid work and a competitive salary are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5‑10 years of project controls experience with an emphasis on cost management.
• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills required.
• Management of large spreadsheets, pivot tables, and coding to perform analysis.
• Familiarity with capital program financial reporting and PMO setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with client project managers and operations staff to obtain project status.
• Develop overall project budgets including direct construction costs and contingencies.
• Analyze funding, expenditures, and commitment information for accuracy.
• Run queries utilizing the client ERP system and support the accrual process.
• Assist project managers with cost updates and update forecasts monthly.
• Generate regular financial reports and lead monthly project financial reviews.
