Job summary

Consertus seeks experienced Project Cost Controllers for a role in the western suburbs of Chicago with hybrid work. You will manage cost control on capital construction projects, integrate data from multiple sources, and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management and regulators.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and cost analytics, collaborating with project teams and the client ERP system, and supporting audits while delivering concise, actionable updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction mgmt, business or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of project controls with emphasis on cost management.
• Strong Excel pivot tables and large spreadsheet management.
• Experience with capital program financial reporting.
• PMO experience preferred.
• Excellent communication across project teams and client organizations.
• Ability to provide concise status reports and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Interact with client PMs and operations staff to obtain project status.
• Develop overall project budgets including direct/indirect costs and contingencies.
• Analyze funding, expenditures, and commitments for accuracy.
• Run queries in the client ERP and support accrual process.
• Assist PMs with cost updates and monthly forecasts.
• Develop historical data to refine estimates and costs.
• Generate regular financial reports and lead monthly reviews.
• Ensure integrity of cost reporting data and support audits.
