Job summary

Consertus, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Cost Controllers for a role based in the western suburbs of Chicago.

You will manage cost control activities for capital construction projects, consolidating data from multiple sources to maintain budgets, commitments, and forecasts against funding sources. You will generate monthly/quarterly cost reports, lead financial reviews, and ensure data integrity in project cost reporting while interacting with project managers and operations staff to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5-10 years of project controls experience with an emphasis on cost management.
• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills with large spreadsheets, pivot tables and coding for analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with capital program financial reporting; PMO experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills across all project team levels.

Responsibilities

• Interact with client project managers and operations staff to obtain project status.
• Participate in development of overall project budgets including direct construction costs, indirect costs and contingencies.
• Analyze funding, expenditures, and commitment information for accuracy.
• Run queries utilizing the client ERP system and support the accrual process.
• Assist project managers with their project cost updates and update forecasts monthly.
• Develop library of historical data to refine estimates and anticipated costs.
• Generate regular financial reports and lead monthly project financial review meetings.
