Job summary

The YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a Senior Camp Counselor for a season of youth programming in Blairstown, NJ. You will supervise and guide groups of campers throughout the day, lead activities, and support the Camp Director and specialists in delivering diverse camp experiences.

Emphasis on safety, positive relationships, and youth development. Required are strong interpersonal skills, a background in youth development, and basic certifications (First Aid/CPR/AED).

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff, parents and campers.
• Experience in youth development principles.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional demeanor as YMCA representative.
• Supervise and engage campers in activities and responsibilities.
• Lead activities and program areas; ensure camper engagement.
• Supervise campers in dining hall and cabin settings.
• Learn campers' names and build positive relationships with families.
