Job summary

The Metro YMCAs in New Jersey are seeking a Camp Specialist to design and deliver a program specialty for various age groups. You will collaborate with counselors to create engaging and developmental activities that promote creativity, cooperation, and self-esteem.

You'll lead activities, supervise staff, manage supplies, and help implement camp themes while upholding ACA and NJ licensing standards to ensure a safe, enriching experience for all campers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Two years’ experience teaching, youth work, recreation or related field.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, setup and deliver activities in the specialty area for different ages.
• Instruct Counselors on teaching activities and lead specialty sessions.
• Supervise activities, ensure safety and maintain supplies inventory.
• Assist Camp Director with themes, events, and general camp activities.
• Greet campers and parents with enthusiasm and address needs promptly.
• Follow YMCA, ACA and NJ Licensing standards to ensure quality and safety.
