Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join its mechanical engineering team in a startup-like environment focused on satellites and aerospace hardware. You will create and modify CAD drawings, ensure documentation meets program requirements, and maintain accurate models and data in SolidWorks PDM.

The role demands strong attention to detail, the ability to read complex schematics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams using MS Teams, Confluence, and Jira.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering technology or related field.
• 5+ years of CAD drafting experience in a hardware/mechanical environment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, with SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings and product specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks Drawings) throughout development.
• Generate/modify product models, drawings and documentation.
• Identify issues in CAD designs and implement corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical data files and drawings; handle engineering change orders.
