Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to lead customer programs from ideation through frozen design and into volume production for cable backplane systems.

You will own the design, collaborate with Program Managers and Product Lines, and drive high‑level technical decisions with OEMs while mentoring junior engineers. Expect 30–50% travel.

Strong background in interconnects, signal integrity, and thermal management is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in interconnect solutions.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity/EMI-EMC or CAD tools.
• Modeling tools and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical strategy for CBS projects.
• Define system-level requirements ensuring high-speed signal integrity, mechanical alignment, thermal efficiency, and scalability.
• Develop technical specifications, schematics, and proof-of-concept models for cable backplane.
• Function as the primary point of contact between OEMs and the cable cartridge manufacturer.
• Develop deep understanding of OEM requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.
