Job summary

Amphenol Corporation seeks a Solutions Architect to lead the architectural design and technical strategy for high-speed cable backplane systems. You will define system requirements, develop specs and concepts, and act as the main liaison between cable backplane manufacturers and OEMs.

You will guide OEM discussions, mentor engineers, present to executives, and drive differentiation and performance while collaborating across Business Units. Travel 30-50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; advanced degree desirable.
• Role draws on electronic or mechanical engineering background.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience providing technical guidance on interconnect solutions.
• Deep knowledge of interconnect solutions and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical strategy for CBS.
• Define system-level requirements, ensuring high-speed signal integrity, mechanical alignment, thermal efficiency, and scalability.
• Develop technical specifications, schematics, and proof-of-concept models for cable backplane.
• Primary point of contact between the cable cartridge manufacturer and the OEM.
• Develop understanding of OEM requirements, goals, and challenges.
• Facilitate regular meetings and technical discussions with OEM stakeholders.
• Address customer concerns, manage expectations, and ensure alignment.
• Provide strategic technical support for CBS products.
• Prepare materials and lead high-level product presentations to executives.
• Provide advanced customer service to solve complex interconnect problems.
• Devise strategies to differentiate products from competitors.
• Lead efforts to meet and exceed strategic objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership within CBS front-end engineering.
• Collaborate with multiple Business Units for seamless integration.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for CBS products.
• Participate in industry conferences to stay updated.
• Ensure project timelines and deliverables are completed on schedule.
