Job summary

IonQ in Bothell, WA is hiring a Buyer Planner to own the buy side of the material plan, converting demand into POs, and ensuring the ERP picture remains accurate for planning. You will connect factory needs with the supply base, manage a high-volume queue, and drive commitments across locations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in purchasing, strong ERP/MRP knowledge, and a disciplined approach to releasing orders and managing supplier dates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, buying, or materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP purchasing mechanics - planned orders, suggested order dates, lead time logic, exception messages.
• Direct experience managing vendor relationships and holding suppliers to committed delivery dates.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, and analysis capabilities.
• Ability to read BOMs and engineering drawings to buy the right part.
• Organized and persistent; able to manage a large daily queue and communicate status clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review the buyer workbench daily for new demand, pull-ins, quantity changes, and cancellations before releasing items.
• Release compressed lead time purchase requests first, prioritizing items past the Suggested Order Date and batch within-lead-time releases.
• Create transfer orders to connect supply and demand across locations and subsidiaries, checking on-hand before releasing a new PO.
• Manage the purchase request intake queue end to end, including vendor contacts, quotes, and approvals.
• Provide status updates on aging items and queue progress to stakeholders.
