Job summary

IonQ, a leading quantum computing company, seeks a Factory Planner to own production scheduling and material planning in a high‑mix manufacturing setting. You’ll connect forecast to shop floor, release work orders in NetSuite, and drive material availability to keep builds on time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in production planning, scheduling, or materials planning in manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and planning parameters
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Ability to read BOMs, routings, and engineering drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication; data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the production schedule based on demand, capacity, and material availability
• Create, release, and close work orders in NetSuite; ensure accurate dates and quantities
• Level-load schedule against labor, tooling, and capacity; identify bottlenecks
• Coordinate with Procurement to manage shortages and lead times
• Lead or participate in daily production meetings; report status and risks
• Support engineering changes and disposition of obsolete material
• Coordinate kitting and material staging with Warehouse/Stockroom
• Maintain item master, BOM, and routing data; reconcile inventory discrepancies
• Report planning KPIs such as on-time delivery and inventory turns
• Identify and implement process improvements to ensure turnover resilience
