Job summary

San Juan Unified School District Transportation Department is seeking a skilled automotive/diesel mechanic with a high school diploma or GED and completion of an automotive/diesel apprenticeship. Four years of progressive repair experience on buses or trucks is required, with diesel experience highly desirable.

Preferred candidates may hold an ASE Master School Bus Technician or Medium/Heavy Truck Technician cert, and will need a California Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement and air-brake

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with automotive or diesel apprenticeship.
• Four years of progressive bus/truck repair experience; diesel experience preferred.
• Master Certified program in automotive/diesel mechanics preferred.
• Valid ASE Master School Bus Technician or Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification.
• Fork Lift Operator Certification per Cal-OSHA within 30 days of hire.
• California Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement and air-brake certification within 30 days of hire or before driving.
