Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an experienced Mechanic Exemption to perform major and minor mechanical repairs on district vehicles with minimal supervision. The role reports to the Fleet Manager and involves working on school buses and other district fleet assets, following established procedures.

Requirements include five years as a mechanic (school bus preferred), ASE certifications (T1-T6 or S1-S7), and a valid Texas CDL with passenger/school bus endorsements.

Qualifications

  • Five years experience as a mechanic (school bus preferred) or med/heavy-duty truck mechanic.
  • At least 2 ASE school bus certifications (T1-T6 or S1-S7) or demonstrable proficiency.
  • Possess and maintain Texas CDL (Class A or B) w/ passenger & school bus endorsements or willing to obtain.
  • Acceptable driving record per Texas DPS requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain Texas school bus driver certification.
