Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Senior Burn Crew Member to lead a small fire crew in wildland fire operations and prescribed fire tasks. You will oversee housing, safety, and crew development while coordinating with Burn Boss and partners.

Role requires FFT2 certification, ICS training, physical stamina, and strong teamwork. Location-based compensation includes housing in Marion County, GA with field duties across the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 12 months as an active-duty Firefighter Type 2 or similar fire position.
• Must be FFT2 certified and have ICS/Fire line training as listed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in wildland fire operations and prescribed fire tasks.
• Manage seasonal crew housing and maintain the residence.
• Communicate instructions and ensure safety during operations.
• Perform non-fire land management duties as needed.
• Maintain equipment and assist with record-keeping.
