Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Burn Crew Manager for a four-month season in Northwest Georgia, leading a 2–7 person crew under a Burn Boss. You will assist prescribed burns, maintain equipment, and support safety protocols. Housing is provided; valid driver’s license and fitness are required.

You will work with local partners and agencies to restore native ecosystems while advancing professional fire certifications and community relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 1 year of fire operations training or related land management experience.
• Qualified Fire Fighter Type 1 (Squad Boss) and FFT1 task book completion.
• Two or more seasons as Senior Burn Crew Member or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support burn operations and supervise Burn Crew Members.
• Assist with logistics, expenses, time reporting and other admin tasks.
• Convey work instructions and monitor progress toward fire management goals and safety.
