Job summary

COPT Defense Properties in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Building Technician to maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life safety. This full-time role requires hands-on maintenance and proactive issue resolution.

You will perform preventative maintenance, operate BAS/EMS, supervise subcontractors, and support on-call coverage, with opportunities to contribute to energy management and facility reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational HVAC/electric/plumbing coursework preferred.
• Minimum five years' experience as a technician in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or mechanical.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• On-call 24/7 and respond to emergencies as required; monitor BAS/EMS and report via CMMS.
