Job summary

COPT Defense Properties is seeking a skilled Building Technician for our National Business Park location in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and life-safety systems.

The technician will also supervise subcontractors and coordinate with the Chief Engineer. The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years relevant work experience as a technician in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational coursework in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical and plumbing drawings; proficiency in schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair building systems including plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and electrical components.
• Monitor subcontractors, ensure QC and safety codes; report modifications and repairs to Chief Engineer.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call duties as required (24-hour availability).
