Job summary

COPT Defense Properties in Chantilly, VA seeks a Building Technician to maintain government credentials and handle day-to-day operations, including responding to tenant requests and performing repairs. You will manage preventive maintenance of building systems and coordinate with subcontractors.

Requires at least three years in facilities or building tech roles, a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational training, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Three years of facilities, maintenance or building technician experience.
• Basic PC skills and ability to learn company software.
• On-call and off-hour availability as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and perform preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, finishes).
• Perform basic building and grounds maintenance and keep daily operation records.
• Coordinate access for subcontractors and ensure safety code compliance.
• Inspect and monitor the building and grounds quality daily.
• Advise Chief Building Technician on major problems and corrective actions.
• Handle day-to-day security, investigate alarms and life/safety situations.
• Assist with setup and takedown of events; maintain tools and supplies.
