Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield seeks a Lead Operating Engineer to manage and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at a Falls Church, VA facility. The role includes daily operation, preventive maintenance, and occasional supervision of maintenance staff.

The engineer will ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance with codes while coordinating with external contractors as needed. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant trade experience, relevant licenses, and strong

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. Apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Possess appropriate trade license(s) such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, EPA Section 608 refrigerant certs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MEP systems in assigned facility.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and coordinate with contractors.
• Perform preventive maintenance: filters, belts, bearings, pumps, lights etc.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain building operations and safety procedures.
